Cyberpunk 2077’s Live Action Project Set for 2025 Release at the Earliest

CD Projekt Red has officially confirmed that the live action project based on Cyberpunk 2077 won’t make its debut until 2025 at the earliest. During the recent earnings call, Michał Nowakowski, the chief commercial officer, provided this update while discussing the company’s plans to sustain Cyberpunk 2077’s sales.

While Nowakowski didn’t specify the exact release date, he mentioned that promotional activities, including the launch of the Ultimate Edition, are in the pipeline. Additionally, CD Projekt Red is committed to expanding the Cyberpunk IP beyond the game itself. The live action project, announced in October 2023 in collaboration with Anonymous Content, is part of this initiative but is not expected to materialize in 2024.

As for details about the project, much remains shrouded in mystery. It is unknown whether it will be a film or TV show, and whether it will directly adapt Cyberpunk 2077 or tell a new story within its universe. CD Projekt Red previously ventured into TV with the release of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime in September 2022, which introduced new content to the game.

While waiting for the live action project, CD Projekt Red is also gearing up for the development of Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel, codenamed Orion, with the establishment of a North American studio. The gaming community eagerly anticipates the expansion of the Cyberpunk universe across different media platforms.
