“Dark Magic Unleashed: Elden Ring’s Malenia Invades Sekiro Thanks to Modder’s Sorcery!

Elden Ring’s notorious boss, Malenia, Blade of Miquella, has ventured beyond the Lands Between and into the treacherous world of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, all thanks to a skilled modder.

As documented by PC Gamer, Gūyǐng Zhòng’s “Land of Reeds: Emptiness” mod, available on NexusMods, brings the infamous Elden Ring boss into the realm of Sekiro. This means Malenia now shares space with iconic characters like Dark Souls’ Artorias the Abysswalker and Dark Souls 3’s Slave Knight Gael.

YouTube user Ongbal has showcased this mod in action, revealing that while getting it to run seamlessly can be a bit challenging, Malenia is mostly operational within Sekiro’s distinct combat style.

In this modded boss battle, players will notice a posture bar alongside Malenia’s standard health bar, providing a fresh layer of challenge. Building up the posture bar requires skillfully deflecting Malenia’s various attacks in the shoes of Sekiro. The fight even mirrors Malenia’s two-stage structure in Elden Ring, with resurrection nodes, and incorporates a proper deathblow animation.

Although the mod displays promise, it’s not without its quirks and quirks. Ongbal remarked, “The hitbox and deflect timing are oddly inconsistent and there were often awkward interactions. Nevertheless, it’s still amazing that other FromSoftware bosses were ported to Sekiro with such high quality.”

Malenia rapidly gained notoriety as the toughest boss in Elden Ring, with tales of epic struggles and challenges. The situation was further complicated when FromSoftware removed an exploit used to defeat her and a glitch made her exceptionally overpowered.

In response, the modding community took matters into their own hands, pitting Malenia against every other boss in Elden Ring and even turning all game enemies into the formidable adversary. Talk about a nightmarish transformation!

To restore some balance to the universe, Elden Ring’s most renowned player, known as “Let me Solo Her,” became a savior, swooping into players’ worlds to single-handedly bring down Malenia. This legendary player has now vanquished Malenia over a thousand times. Quite the heroics!

In this crossover of FromSoftware’s creations, Sekiro and Elden Ring collide, setting the stage for even more imaginative and challenging encounters that fans of both titles can enjoy.
