Bertone Revives V10

Italian design legend Bertone has made a triumphant return with the unveiling of their first hypercar, the GB110, at the prestigious Top Marques event in Monaco. This launch marks Bertone’s 110th anniversary and signifies a significant milestone for the iconic brand.

Bertone’s Storied Legacy

Founded in 1912 by Giovanni Bertone, Carrozzeria Bertone gained fame for its collaboration with major automotive manufacturers like Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Alfa Romeo, creating some of the most iconic car designs in history. Despite facing financial difficulties and declaring bankruptcy in 2014, Bertone has been given a second chance under the ownership of Interactive, a company run by the Ricci brothers.

The GB110 Hypercar

The GB110 is a limited edition hypercar, with only 33 units being produced. It features a 5.2-litre, twin-turbo V10 engine that produces an astounding 829 kW and 1,000 N.m of torque. This power is delivered through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission to all four wheels, enabling the GB110 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and reach a limited top speed of 350 km/h.

Sustainable Performance

One of the most remarkable aspects of the GB110 is its commitment to sustainability. Unlike most hypercars that rely on hybrid systems for enhanced performance, the GB110 runs on synthetic fuels derived from plastic waste. Bertone has partnered with Select Fuel to convert discarded polycarbonate materials into usable fuel, showcasing an innovative approach to eco-friendly performance.

Design and Features

The GB110 boasts a sleek design that pays homage to Bertone’s rich heritage. Although specific details about the chassis and interior are still under wraps, it is known to feature a 2.63-metre wheelbase and a double-wishbone suspension system. This combination promises a blend of performance and handling that complements its powerful engine.

A Collector’s Item

With its limited production run, extraordinary power, and pioneering use of sustainable fuel, the GB110 is poised to become a true collector’s item. Bertone has yet to announce the price, but given its unique features and limited availability, it is expected to attract eco-conscious speed enthusiasts and collectors alike.

The GB110 represents a bold new chapter for Bertone, merging the company’s storied design legacy with cutting-edge technology and sustainability.
