Opel Unveils All-New Frontera: A Spacious and Versatile SUV

Opel has introduced the all-new Frontera, positioned as a successor to the Crossland, offering customers a choice between traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) models and full zero-emissions electric variants.

“Serving as Opel’s latest creation, the Frontera has been unveiled as a fun and spacious SUV, available right from the start as a battery-electric variant and offering customers the choice of models with 48-volt hybrid technology,” said Opel CEO Florian Huettl.

The exterior design is marked by the iconic Opel “Blitz” emblem, prominently displayed on the Opel Vizor. Inside, the Frontera boasts a fully digital Pure Panel cockpit, featuring intuitive controls and a multimedia infotainment system for an enhanced driving experience. Optional features include a smartphone station for seamless integration of mobile devices and the patented Intelli-Seat feature, ensuring optimal comfort during long journeys.

Designed as a versatile family vehicle, the Frontera offers a range of practical features, including a cooled wireless charger and flexible storage options. With 460 liters of luggage space in the boot and the ability to fold down the rear seats for a total of 1,600 liters of luggage space, the Frontera is well-equipped for various hauling needs. Optional functional roof rails are also available for added convenience.

The Frontera comes with a choice of drivetrains, including a purely battery-electric variant and hybrid options, although official specifications are yet to be revealed. Pricing for the European market is speculated to be around the R700,000 mark, positioning it among other upper-tier crossover SUVs.

The Opel Frontera combines rugged design, spaciousness, clever solutions, and efficient drivetrains, appealing to customers seeking a distinctive and practical vehicle for urban and suburban environments.
