Krämer Unleashes the Super Hooligan: A German Twist on American Insanity

Rev up your engines, folks, because Krämer Motorcycles has just unleashed their wild side with the limited-run Hooligan naked bike – a two-wheeled rebel born from the flagship £28,600 GP2-890R. If you thought German engineering was all about precision and autobahns, think again; this baby is here to spice things up!

Meet the Super Hooligan: A Wild Ride from the GP2-890R Roots

Krämer Motorcycles decided it was time to break free from the conventional and dive headfirst into the chaos of Super Hooligan racing. Inspired by the rowdy ‘Super Hooligan’ class in the USA, where motorcycles from the likes of Indian, Harley-Davidson, and KTM battle it out, Krämer aims to conquer hearts and tracks with their upright naked wonder.

Racing with the Rebels: Super Hooligan Explained

For the uninitiated, Super Hooligan racing is where heavily modified bikes of 750cc and up, with two-cylinder engines, engage in a no-holds-barred showdown. Picture Harley-Davidsons doing the tango with Indians while KTM throws its hat (or helmet) into the ring. Krämer is throwing their Hooligan into this wild mix to see if it can dance with the best.

Markus Krämer’s Confession: “It Just Felt Right, You Know?”

According to co-founder Markus Krämer, the decision to unleash the Hooligan was as natural as an espresso at sunrise. “We just wanted to build this bike, and it just felt right and natural to do that,” he chuckled. The positive feedback on their concept bike prompted them to develop a conversion kit for the GP2-890R. Ten Hooligan bikes are set to hit the streets, with Markus keeping an eye on the market. If the appetite is there, expect more rebels to join the lineup.

The Hooligan Makeover: A Beast in the Making

The GP2-890R, weighing in at 140kg and growling with 128.2bhp, got a serious makeover for the American stage. Trick components include Dymag UP7X rims, a Brembo RCS Corsa Corta master cylinder, WP Apex Pro forks and shock, and adjustable engine and throttle maps. With a small belly pan and blacked-out crash tubes protecting the trellis frame, this Hooligan means business.

Jeremy McWilliams’ Lucky Number 99: A Prototype Tribute

The prototype model pays homage to KTM development rider Jeremy McWilliams, who rode an Indian to second place in the 2023 Super Hooligans series. Number boards proudly display 99, channeling the spirit of the Northern Irish speed demon.

KTM Connections, Past Glories, and a Need for Speed

Krämer’s history is a tapestry of speed and innovation. They’ve teamed up with KTM before, worked their magic on the GP2-890R, and even dabbled in hill climbs with the upright EVO2-690R. If the GP2-890R doesn’t quench your thirst for speed, the £35,990 GP2-890RR is waiting in the wings, limited to 125 units and boasting 136.1bhp.

Fast Facts: Krämer Motorcycles at a Glance

  • Short History: Born in 2009 as a mere hobby, Krämer Motorcycles has come a long way from building a prototype racing bike for founders’ personal use.
  • Going Further: Krämer worked with KTM to develop the Austrian brand’s RC 8C limited-run track motorcycle, which unfortunately can’t hit the streets legally.
  • Past Glories: An upright version of their £21,650 EVO2-690R conquered the Landshaag hill climb in Austria, ridden by the fearless Shaun Anderson.
